NBA Play-offs: Denver overturns series with Minnesota, New York dominates Indiana
NBA playoffs: Denver and New York go 3-2, T'Wolves and Pacers with their backs against the wall
After putting the series back in the balance thanks to their two outside wins, the Denver Nuggets complete the overtake by beating Minnesota (112-97) in front of their home crowd. On the night when he was presented with the Regular Season MVP award, Nikola Jokic gave his fans another joy by dominating the game far and wide by putting up 40 points, 13 assists and 0 turnovers. Good performances also for Gordon and Murray, who scored 34 points overall.
The best in the T'Wolves household, however, è Karl-Anthony Towns with 23 points, while Anthony Edwards did not go beyond 18 points. A night to forget for Rudy Gobert, who despite a double-double canò nothing against Jokic in one-on-one.
In the other series, New York took back the lead over Indiana by winning Game 5 121-91. Star of the night è was Jalen Brunson with 44 points. More effort than expected for Tyrese Haliburton, who did not go beyond 13 points and 5 assists in 34 minutes of play.
A large part of the Knicks’ triumph è came from offensive rebounding dominance (as many as 26 second-chance points). "We were annihilated on loose balls and rebounds. We have to take responsibility for that. È it was embarrassing, a very hard lesson" these were the words of Rick Carlisle after the game.
