Elisabetta Cocciaretto to quarterfinals in Rabat, Zhuoxuan Bai knockout

Elisabetta Cocciaretto's adventure at the WTA 250 in Rabat continues. After defeating Moroccan Yasmine Kabbaj in the opener, the Italian player repeated herself in the second round by defeating Japanese world number 99 Zhuoxuan Bai. 6-4 6-2 was the final score in favor of the Ancona native.
The first set è featured great balance for a long time. In the ninth game, però, è the Japanese player committed the first blunders. Down 0-40 the Japanese managed to cancel the first two break points, but on the third came the error and the advantage for Cocciaretto who managed to capitalize by immediately closing the set on 6-4 in the next game.
In the second partial, Bai accrues the blow of the first set and the Italian quickly manages to break serve. The Ancona native dominates the exchanges, so much so that she immediately widens the lead in the third game. It took, however, as many as four match points for Elisabetta Cocciaretto to close out the match on 6-2.
In the quarterfinals, the number 7 in the seeding will face the winner of the challenge between Kamilla Rakhimova and the other Italian Camilla Rosatello.
