Simon Kjaer leaves AC Milan

During an interview given to the microphones of "MilanTv", Danish defender Simon Kjaer wanted to clarify his future, officially announcing his intention to leave AC Milan at the end of the season after a good four years.

"It's been for a couple of months that I had the feeling that it was right to finish now and then there will be a new adventure. In my journey these four years I have come to a good point, but I could obviously give more to help the team. Regardless of that, however, I feel that è the right time to leave" began the Danish center.

"Let's say my future I divided it into three parts. There'è this week, where I will play my last match at San Siro with the Milan jersey, then there'è an adventure with Denmark in the European Championships and then I need to find a new team where I can continue playing soccer. I have great curiosity and desire to impact on a new group as well as I did here" continued the former Atalanta player.

"When I arrived here, Milan was in a very difficult period. Paolo and Ricky took me to give an impact especially to the youngsters, give continuity and make the group grow. I think I have done my job. I was able to show individuals every day that you had to arrive early to work and go home late. The path I had with this club è it was the dream I had for my career. To have the chance, at the age of 32, to go to the Ballon d'Or with the Milan jersey è was an unrepeatable thrill" added the former Roma and Sevilla player.

"I have always been disponibilie with all my teammates. Whether I play with Gabbia, Tomori, Kalulu or Thiaw the basics have to be the same for everyone becauseè we are not the ones who decide who plays, forò if I can have continuityà with the person who plays on my left then 8 times out of 10 I can know what he does. I have a lot of confidence in them, Fikayo è the one with more experience and without me he will have to make a qualitative leap; also in terms of leadership. He has all the possibilities to become one of the strongest defenders in the world, as well as the other guys, although in their case it takes more time because they are still very young,” said the 32-year-old Dane about his teammates.

In conclusion, Simon Kjaer wanted to send a greeting to the Rossoneri public: "With the fans we è created a relationship that is very close to my heart. I was surprised how they behaved with us. I thank everyone. The path I have had here, the pride, the dream that has given me so much joy and so much satisfaction in my career and in my life. In the future, when I stop playing soccer, I think I will go back to Milan to live with my family, because it has become our home".
