Good, very good, and occasionally lucky. Luciano Darderi, world number 47, è landed in the semifinals of the’ATP 250 on clay in Lyon without playing.
The Italo-Argentine, the great revelation of the year as far as our tennis is concerned, in fact benefited from the forfeit of Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech.
È the third semifinal this year for Darderi in the ATP major circuit, the fifth counting also Challengers. Thanks to this result Luciano on Monday will be at least No. 39 in the world, and last Jan. 1° he was at No. 185!
But it may not be over yet, because tomorrow Darderié will face Argentina’s Tomas Martin Etcheverry, number 29 in the ranking and number 29 seed in the tournament.
