AC Milan, Olivier Giroud on farewells: ‘I wanted a different ending’
In three seasons at the Diavolo, he scored 48 goals
Giroud è reached the end of his adventure with AC Milan. In three seasons he played 130 games, scoring 48 goals. He reached his peak in the 2021/22 season, which ended with winning the Italian championship. Now he will leave Europe to put himself on the line in MLS, wearing the Los Angeles FC jersey.
"I made this decision several months ago and it è materialized in recent weeks. The weight of the years is beginning to be felt and I made my choice. Playing every three days è more and more complicated, especially at this level. I am not going there to be a tourist, but I think it is the right time for me", his words to Equipe.
The French striker, born in 1986, è was satisfied with his performance with the Diavolo, even if the ending did not convince him: "&It is true that statistically I did well, but it is not è the best way to say goodbye to Milan". The reference è obviously, to the negative season that is coming to an end in which Milan è failed to win anything.
There'è also a nice anecdote concerning his friend Ibrahimovic, the protagonist of a documentary dedicated to the Frenchman: "We found each other in a small restaurant in Milan and started talking. I reminded him that at Milan he greeted me with a shocking phrase: 'Remember that in Milan there’è only one king and it is me'…". Giroud to greetings, his memory will remain forever in the hearts of the Rossoneri fans who have always appreciated him.
