GP Monaco, Max Verstappen worried, Lewis Hamilton elated, Lando Norris satisfied

Here are statements from Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris at the end of the second free practice session of the Monaco Grand Prix. The quotes are reported by formulapassion.co.uk.

Max Verstappen: “Today è was quite difficult, but we knew ahead of this weekend’s race that it would be soì on the track there were a lot of jumps and temperature variations, which made things difficult for us. Every time we went over a bump, the car would lose a lot of lap time, and on this track a small jump can’ve always put you against the wall. We are studying a solution ahead of the weekend to solve the problem. In general, the problem è a bit’ more difficult to solve at the set-up level and it won’ t be a quick fix, but we will work on it overnight. We don’t expect miracles but we still look forward to tomorrow. Ferrari è also fast, but I don’t think about it before tomorrow. During the night we will look at the problems we have and hope to improve the drivabilityà of the car ahead of qualifying“.

Lewis Hamilton: “&It was a good day, probably the best we have had this year, and the car feels very good, this track è just fantastic for an F1 and I enjoyed driving today: I was pleasantly surprised by the level of grip and the way the car responded, making the lap much more enjoyable than in the last two years. In the second session, the car è felt a little less comfortable and we have a lot of work to do overnight to improve long runs and front graining. The feeling è was positive with the lower fuel and we don’t want to lose it, but our focus now è is on improving the long run”.

Lando Norris: “We seem to be doing well, we are not bad at all. È good to get back on the track. We lack a little bit’ compared to Charles and maybe the Mercedes. We are all very close, because é the track è smaller. We are in a fight. Here è it is important to have grip at low speed and adapt the balance to that. We tried some things and hopefully we can improve them overnight“.
