Lucrezia Magistris snaps off Olympic pass
The words of Lucrezia Magistris
Lucrezia Magistris officially peels off her pass for the Paris 2024 Games. The International Olympic Weightlifting Federation has published the latest version of the ranking list of qualified athletes, following skimming due to duplication of nationalities and the choices of individual countries with respect to the category in which to compete. As a result of these decisions, all rankings underwent changes, one of which involved the 59 kg, in which the Azzurra competes, who thus rises to the tenth place in the ranking. For Lucrezia Magistris, the 217 kg lifted at the Doha Grand Prix in December 2023 remains valid, when she had rewritten all new Italian category records: 102 kg snatch, 115 momentum and 217 kg total.
This brings to three the number of Team Italia FIPE athletes who will take part in the five-ring competition. Before Lucrezia, in fact, Sergio Massidda, third in the category up to 61 kg, and Nino Pizzolato, sixth in the category up to 89 kg, had earned a pass.
“I have yet to realize how much è happened! È a dream come true! Now I have to get my feet back on the ground as soon as possible and work with only one goal in my head: Paris. This è THE RACE and I want to give my best, what comes out of it”.
