Milan, Paulo Fonseca is now one step away
Milan, Paulo Fonseca è now one step
Last night Stefano Pioli, drawing 3-3 with Salernitana, bid farewell to the Milan bench, on which in six years he won a Scudetto in 2021-2022. As all fans know, the leading candidate to replace him è Paulo Fonseca.
The 51-year-old Portuguese in Italy has already coached Roma from 2019 to 2021, collecting a fifth and a seventh place finish after instead dominating Ukrainian soccer for three years at the helm of Shakhtar Donetsk. In the last two seasons è he was instead fifth and fourth in Ligue 1 with Lille.
According to calciomercato.com reports, Fonseca fits the’ideal identikit of many members of the Rossoneri management and technical staff: he is experienced, has an offensive game and likes to work with youngsters.
Fonseca is expected to put his signature on a three-year contract, but the details are still lacking: in fact, it could be a two-year deal with an option for a third year, or a three-year direct. We’ll see, but in the meantime the sole candidate for the Milan bench è him.
