NBA Play-offs: Boston closes series with Indiana and flies to Finals
Boston closes series with Indiana and flies to NBA Finals
Boston did not discount and immediately closed out the series at first match point with Indiana. The Celtics won on a comeback against the Pacers (105-102), completing the 'sweep' and regaining the NBA Finals two years later, when the green-and-white franchise was defeated by Golden State.
Big players in Boston’s ranks are the usual Brown and Tatum. The former puts up an impressive 29 points with 6 rebounds and 2 assists further certifying his nomination as MVP of the Eastern Conference Finals. Good performance also for number 0 who closes with a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds. Honorable mention also for Derrick White, who posts the triple that finally breaks the tie in the last minute of the game.
On the other side, without Haliburton, the best in Indiana was confirmed as Nembhard with 24 points and 10 assists. Good performances also for Siakam (19p+10r) and McConnell (15), which, however, are not enough to extend the series to game 5.
On the night of Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 May, Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals between Dallas and Minnesota will be staged, with the Texans leading 3-0 and needing just one win to reach the NBA Finals.
