A great comeback for Vero Volley Milano: Anna Danesi will wear again the colors of the Consortium’s women’s first team in the 2024/2025 season, after the farewell two years ago of the Italian center, current captain of the national team.
Anna Danesi was born in Brescia on April 20, 1996. At’age five she began playing volleyball (Roncadelle, Flero, Iseo), later moving to the youth ranks of Progetto Volley Orago. In 2011 she moved to Villa Cortese, a formation with which she won two Under 18 championships. In 2012 comes the first convocation in the Italian national Under 18 team, representation with which he won the 8 Nations Tournament. Lived the 2013-14 season with the Volleyrò Casal de’ Pazzi in the B1 Series, in the 2014-15 season she is called in the Club Italia, a team with which she plays one sporting year in A2 and one in A1, in which she closes as the fourth best blocker in the league with 70 walls put in. From the 2016-17 season, she joined Imoco Volley Conegliano, a club with which she won two Italian Super Cups, the 2016-17 Coppa Italia and two Scudetti; she then moved on to Vero Volley where in three years she won a CEV Cup and twice won the title of best wall in the league (2020 and 2022). In the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons she plays at Novara where she lifts a CEV Challenge Cup in 2024. Now è ready for a new adventure with the jersey of Vero Volley Milano.
In the Azzurri, Danesi won the bronze medal at the Under-20 World Championship in 2015, receiving recognition as the tournament’s best central player. Her first time with the jersey of the senior national team è dated January 2016, when CT Bonitta fielded her during the continental tournament for qualification for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. With the national team, she also won a silver medal at the 2017 World Grand Prix and 2018 World Championships and a gold at the 2018 Montreux Volleyball Masters. The most significant achievements in blue are the two golds obtained in 2021 at the European Championship and in 2022 at the Volleyball Nations League. Anna è currently the captain of the Italian national team.
