A chance for Roberto Garcia

Following further medical checks, Xavi Cardelus will not undergo surgery on his right foot but will not be able to race at the Sachsenring and will focus on his recovery.

In his place, the Fantic Racing team will be able to count on Roberto Garcia, the leader in the JuniorGP championship with the Fantic Cardoso Racing team. At just 18 years old, who turned 18 last May 28, he will be the youngest rider on the grid next weekend. Roberto comes in as the absolute ruler of the’last round of the JuniorGP in Portugal, where he took two wins and pole position in the Moto2 category. His growth è can also be attributed to the great work of José Luis Cardoso and his team, with which Fantic Racing collaborates, a perfect environment for growing young talent.

"I am very happy and excited to have the opportunity’to debut in the Moto2 world championship. First, I wish Xavi the best and that he recovers as best as he can. I want to thank Fantic for the support in these two years of JuniorGP, which have been very important for me, and now with the’opportunity to be able to debut in the world championship. I feel in great shape, we are working very well in JuniorGP with some very good performances. Now we have to enjoy this opportunity; and work to make it as special as possible" said Garcia.
