Euro 2024, England: Harry Kane wants to break the curse
Harry Kane believes in English success
Despite dozens of goals scored first in the English league and then in the German league, not counting international activity in an England shirt, Harry Kane has yet to win a team trophy. On Sunday he will have a very important chance to end the curse by taking the field as captain in the Euro 2024 final against Spain.
"It's going to be an incredibly tough match, we don't expect anything easy,' said the Walthamstow-born center forward, northeast of London, in an interview with 'ITV Sport' -We are aware, however, that it's going to be a match in which we can write the history of this national team".
Kane was on the field exactly three years ago, on July 11, 2021, when Italy won on penalties against England in the Euro 2020 final played at Wembley: a huge disappointment for all of English soccer and for Kane himself, who even then could not shake off the label of 'successful loser'.
Harry Kane will turn 31 next July 28: the present he will want to give himself is undoubtedly the first trophy of a career full of goals and certificates of esteem from teammates, coaches and insiders, but still no team laurels to show in his trophy cabinet. Just a few more days and we will see if the curse will be broken.
