Kaiserslautern’s Italy retreat ends in tragedy

A terrible tragedy has struck Kaiserslautern, a football team of the "Zweite Bundesliga", the second division of German soccer, which was on a training camp in Malles, capital of the Upper Vinschgau,

In Burgusio a cycling accident claimed the life of Peter Miethe, head of the team’s technical equipment and a well-known figure in German soccer.

Miethe was taking a bicycle ride when he è fell on the bike path a short distance from the sports field. Despite prolonged efforts by rescuers to revive him on the spot, it è was not possible to save his life: his injuries were too severe.

As a sign of mourning, Kaiserslautern has decided to interrupt the training camp and return to Germany.
