Haas: official farewell of Kevin Magnussen
Kevin Magnussen leaves Haas
The story between Kevin Magnussen and Haas will end at the end of the season. Through a press note, the American team announced that after 135 races together, the Danish driver will no longer compete for the team starting with the 2025 season.
"I would like to extend my thanks to all members of Team Haas-I am proud to have raced for such a team over the past few years. In particular I would like to thank Gene Haas for his commitment to me, especially for taking me back in 2022 when I thought, at least at that time, that my time in Formula 1 was over. I have had wonderful times with this team, memories I will never forget. I look forward to the next chapter of my racing career, but I remain fully focused on giving my all for the rest of 2024 with Haas" these are the words of Kevin Magnussen after the official farewell.
"I would like to thank Kevin for everything he has given us as a team, both on and off the track. He's really been a pillar of our lineup over the years. No one has run more races for us and we have had some memorable moments together, not the least of which was a remarkable fifth place at the 2022 Bahrain GP, when Magnussen è returned to start his second stint with the team.
He did not expect to drive a Formula 1 car that weekend, but he put in an outstanding performance that gave a huge boost to the whole team and once again showcased his talent behind the wheel. There are still many races to come this year, so I look forward to seeing what else we can accomplish with Kevin as we work together in the championship.
I hope we can find a way to continue working together in some way. We hope to be able to define it in the near future, but his extensive experience in Formula 1 and his knowledge of our work operations are undoubtedly valuable to our continued growth and development" these, however, were the statements of team principal Ayao Komatsu.
In the coming hours Haas is expected to officially announce the arrival of Esteban Ocon, who will goà to complete the line-up for 2025 with Ollie Bearman.
