The words of Bernardo Corradi

Francesco Camarda, in his first start as a starter, shows up at EURO Under 19 and è absolute protagonist. Corradi makes him start from the first minute against Northern Ireland and the Milan jewel rewards the choice with a brace at the turn of the first and second half: two different goals, the first of power and quality, the second as a consummate striker of the penalty area.

Italy flies, also thanks to the momentary (and splendid) 1-0 goal scored by Kevin Zeroli and beats Northern Ireland 3-0: with the victory the Azzurrini are arithmetically first in their group with one day to spare (they will play again on Sunday at 8 p.m., live on RaiPlay, against Ukraine) and this means being both qualified to the semifinals of the European Championship, but also to the Under-20 World Cup to be played in Chile in 2025. A prestigious achievement, which the whole FIGC can’celebrate: it is also the fourth consecutive edition in which Italy will participate, among other things as reigning vice-champion.

Also celebrating the first goal achieved was Bernardo Corradi, who commented at the end of the match: “We played a great match. The field (synthetic, ed) thanks to the rain was a bit more’ fast and helped our game made of ground ball plays. We want to give minutes in the legs to all the players and being already qualified will allow us to make some changes, but I am fortunate to have a large roster: I have never felt so difficult in choosing the starting eleven. È it is good to be soì in difficulty: they are a great group, they help each other and that makes the difference”.

Corradi then dwells on the double qualification (semifinal and World Cup): “È a great achievement for the Federation: è something that is good for the whole movement. We have achieved the first goal we set for ourselves and we are overjoyed. We had told the boys today that in order to fly high you have to have a well-defined flight plan, without, however, forgetting where you è started from and what you è are doing”.
