Pierre Gasly pushes Carlos Sainz in Alpine: the Spaniard’s response
Carlos Sainz is in no hurry
During the press conference at the Hungaroring, where the Hungarian Grand Prix will be run on Sunday, Pierre Gasly gave a clear signal about his future teammate: "I’ve already said it and I repeat it, I think that Alpine has good options available and in the end it is not up to me to decide. I will welcome with open arms the fastest driver, and I think we all know who that is. At the moment for we just have to wait".
The referenceè obviously to Carlos Sainz, with whom he confessed to having talked to convince him to join the French stable: "I have done my part of the work, I believe in the project I am building with Alpine. Now it is up to him to decide".
The Spaniard, however, put on the brakes to the microphones of Sky Sports: "Surely if you ask around they will all say the same thing. I do not know yet how long you have to wait to know whose teammate it will be, but surely there’è to wait a little longer’ for my decision".
"I’m aware that the future of some drivers also depends on my decision, but at the same time I don’t think things will change,” Sainz added. È only the timing is changing, but probably all teams by now have their own priorities and decisions depending on each scenario".
