Tour de France, Tadej Pogacar makes it five at Col de la Couillole
Tadej Pogacar also makes his own the 20th and penultimate stage of the 132.8-kilometer-long Tour de France 2024, starting in Nice and finishing at Col de la Couillole. The Slovenian cyclist, in fact, took his fifth victory in this edition of the Grande Boucle, triumphing solo ahead of Jonas Vingegaard and Richard Carapaz.
Remco Evenepoel and Enric Mas close out the top 5. Completing the top 10 are Joao Almeida, Matteo Jorgenson, Mikel Landa, Adam Yates and Romain Bardet. Good 13th place for Italian Giulio Ciccone.
In the general classification, Tadej Pogacar brings his lead to 5'14 over Jonas Vingegaard and 8'04" over Remco Evenepoel. The Slovenian cyclist, with one stage to go, è now very close to achieving a historic Giro-Tour one-two in the same year.
The 111th edition of the Grande Boucle continues Sunday with the 21st and final stage: a 33.7-kilometer individual time trial from Monaco to Nice, with in between the climbs of La Turbie and the Col d'Eze that will make the difference.
