Paris 2024 Olympics, Yuri Romanó warns Poland
The words of Romanò
The Men’s National Team prepares for the last match of group B scheduled tomorrow at 5 p.m. (Live TV Discovery, DAZN, Rai Sport HD) against reigning European champions Poland for what represents a real direct confrontation; at stake is, in fact, the first place in the grouping after the qualification to the quarterfinals obtained with a round of advance by both teams. The boys of Ferdinando De Giorgi have so far played a good tournament, getting two victories, but above all highlighting a good organization of the game, the real trademark of the young blue group distinguished in the last three years on the scene of the world and continental scene.
On the eve of the’important match with Poland to speak è Yuri Romanò: “The balance so far è very positive, also for how we approached the first two matches. We are really very satisfied with our start of the tournament. Playing good volleyball and getting good results everything è went as we wanted and hoped, so è it is obvious that the feelings are extremely positive. We managed to have fun and when that happens we get our stuff right, all those situations that we train with continuity;. We are aware of the fact that if we play our best volleyball we can really play with anyone, as our recent history has also shown”.
The first two matches forò are now behind us and the thought è solely turned to Poland: “Now come the good matches, the ones that really count. Tomorrow we have the challenge with Poland, a crucial match for our final placement in the pool and consequently in the ranking of the eight teams that will play the quarterfinals. It will be important to continue on this path in order to get the best possible result. The one with Poland è always a fascinating challenge; in recent years between us and them there have been high-level matches, matches that were worth a lot and turned out to be very spectacular. Some times è it went well for us, others for them. We know, però that è one of the best equipped and strongest teams in the tournament. We però want to have a good competition, of a level that will serve us in any case for the future, and I am not speaking only in terms of result and ranking”.
Just taking a cue from the conversation, the Blue opposite addresses precisely the issue of the difficulty of the round: “I believe that facing such a round in such a short and important competition has positive aspects because ité è necessary «to stay on the piece» and to us so far this has been good. However there’è to say that the other rounds are also very balanced; in recent years the level of the teams è very similar so if you play badly you can’ really lose to everyone. This è a little bit; the characteristic of world volleyball, especially this year. We, by necessity, had to start off strong right away and this, in my opinion, will help us more forward".
