President Sergio Mattarella, smiling, applauded, standing, the Italian athletes of the Paralympic Games who paraded — in some of the most elegant and understated dresses of the ceremony, in dark blue — at the Opening Ceremony on the Champs-Elysées. In front, blue flag bearers Luca Mazzone and Ambra Sabatini.
Next to the president of the Republic, the Minister of Sport, Andrea Abodi, also standing to applaud. The announcement of the Italian team at Concorde raised a general enthusiasm in the audience.
The parade of participating nations to Place de la Concorde, opened by Saudi Arabia, è was preceded by the French acrobatic patrol, while on the stage in the square, musician Chilly Gonzales on piano led the dance of disabled and able-bodied dancers.
They closed the parade of course the French hosts, who were greeted by an overwhelming ovation. To the tune of "Oh, Champs-Elysées'athletes are escorted on their way to the Concorde, many spectators were framed in tears by the cameras during "Que je t'aime" by Johnny Hallyday.
