Goodbye to Gaetano Salvemini
È passed away at the age of 82 Gaetano Salvemini, a historical figure in soccer. Born in Molfetta, Salvemini had a long career as a soccer player, during which he wore, albeit only for one Italian Cup match, the Inter jersey and helped win the Serie B championship with Venezia.
The greatest successes, however, the Apulian achieved as a coach. He È was the first to take Empoli to Serie A and also left an important mark in Bari, where he gained promotion to Serie A and, in 1990, won the historic Mitropa Cup.
During his career Salvemini coached several teams, including Reggina, Spal, Casertana, Ternana, Genoa, Palermo, Cesena and Lucchese. Monza, in 2001, è was the last team he led.
