New praise for Jannik

The winner of the 1994 Australian Open and 1993 Roland Garros in mixed doubles, Andrei Olkhovsky, commented with "Championship" on the US Open 2024 quarterfinal match between Daniil Medvedev and Jannik Sinner, which ended with the Italian's victory.

"The match è was interesting, but Sinner è was a bit more precise and made fewer errors. Perhaps the key moment è was Medvedev’s failed shot on the break ball at 3-2 in the fourth set. Sinner played with power and confidence, especially in critical moments. He got a well-deserved victory. Medvedev tried to change tactics, played closer to the baseline, but this did not give the desired result" said Olkhovsky.

"I don’t think the defeat to Sinner will putà significant psychological pressure on Medvedev. Before the US Open, he had a difficult series, and reaching the quarterfinals è a good result, especially considering that he lost to the current best player" added the’former tennis player.
