Ollie Bearman’s return to F1 official
Ollie Bearman returns to F1 in Azerbaijan
After replacing Carlos Sainz in the Ferrari in the Saudi Arabian GP, Ollie Bearman will return to an F1 car in the Baku GP. The British driver, in fact, will replace disqualified Kevin Magnussen at the wheel of the Haas by pairing up with Niko Hulkenberg.
"It's definitely more of a challenge going into the race as a reserve driver, with limited preparation time and so on, but I'm lucky enough to have done it earlier in the year with Scuderia Ferrari, so I can at least call on that experience. I have also done four FP1 sessions with the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team with the VF-24 this season, so no doubt that will also prove invaluable in dealing with the entire race weekend in Baku. The team è is in good shape at the moment and I will do my best to be prepared with the time available. The’goal è to get on track and have a good weekend in Azerbaijan" these are the words of Ollie Bearman to the official channels of the team.
"I am thrilled that Ollie will be driving the VF-24 alongside Nico in Baku. He has already shown great promise in his outings in FP1 and post-season testing, and he è performed very well when he drove for Scuderia Ferrari in Saudi Arabia, picking up points in the process. This è another excellent opportunity’for Ollie and the team to work together, this time for an entire race weekend, and he could not ask for a better teammate than Nico to provide him with a reference" these, instead, the statements of Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu.
Ollie Bearman will become a starting driver in the star-studded team from the 2025 season in place of Nico Hulkenberg, who signed a contract with Kick Sauber (future Audi). Completing the stable will be Esteban Ocon, who will take the place of Kevin Magnussen.
