Bellinzona: Gianmarco Tamberi wins, Marcell Jacobs off podium

Gianmarco Tamberi triumphs at the Galà dei Castelli in Bellinzona, Switzerland: the world champion jumps 2.27m on his second attempt and makes the competition his own five days before the Wanda Diamond League finals in Brussels, where he will go after his third career Diamond.

Gimbo makes two mistakes at 2.20 but is saved on the third run, staying in the race with Oleh Doroshchuk of Ukraine. Both surpassed the measure of 2.24 on the first attempt, then for the blue surpassed the Ukrainian in the ranking, thanks to the successful attempt at 2.27, the only one to do so. For the sprinter of the Fiamme Oro it was the last race of the season: now Jacobs will makeà return to the United States (Wednesday), where a period of rest awaits him before starting the preparation toward the World Championships in Tokyo next year, with intermediate stages in the indoor season.
