With only a few days to go before the official start of the new basketball season, FIP president Gianni Petrucci, among the various topics discussed at the microphones of "ANSA", bluntly expressed himself on the upcoming Serie A championship. "This year I expect a very interesting championship. Besides Virtus and Olimpia who are the teams given as favorites, I am convinced that there could be several surprises. The championship è always moreù balanced, the organization by the League excellent and the arenas will always be full" began the president of FIP.
"Both the teams involved in the Euroleague and those in other competitions have built very competitive rosters. Even at the women’s level we will have teams taking part in European competitions. This year there are prerequisites to win at both the men's and women's levels, added the Rome native.
"Before the start of the A Series there will be the Supercup organized in an egregious way by Umberto Gandini and the whole Basketball League and where I will be present. Once that event is over, the championship will begin, which is sure to be spectacular" commented Gianni Petrucci.
