Angelo Binaghi celebrates Jannik Sinner and givesà appointment to Carlos Alcaraz

Speaking at the microphones of "Supertennis", the FITP president wanted to celebrate Jannik Sinner’s extraordinary triumph at the US Open, who overwhelmed host Taylor Fritz with a clear 6-3 6-4 7-5, winning his second career Slam after the Australian Open. In addition, the former tennis player did not hide his optimism about the future of Italian tennis.

"We must honor the defeated, Fritz è a nice player, a good guy, he has everything to be a protagonist in modern tennis, but the match è was without history. I think it is the most beautiful victory Jannik has ever achieved, even more than the one he got at the Australian Open against Medvedev. He put them all in a row, but I still haven’t seen Kyrgios" began the FITP president.

"We have to prepare ourselves: we have entered a new era and the numbers say Italy will be the protagonist. We must arm ourselves with tickets and enjoy these satisfactions that are coming and will come in the future. The next goal will be to win a major tournament in Italy" continued the former Italian tennis player.

"In perspective our rivals are the USA, which has the best generation after ours. Our success è having allowed Italians to know as much as possible about the sport. This è is the time to send boys and girls to play tennis. It's one of the most popular sports and and I hope that more and more young people will enter the court" added the Cagliari native.

In conclusion, Angelo Binaghi could not miss a message to Carlos Alcaraz, a great rival of Jannik Sinner who has won the two Slam tournaments of the season (Roland Garros and Wimbledon): "I think it should be analyzed the whole year. Sinner won two out of four Slams and played the other two with a hidden boulder on his shoulders. Alcaraz won the other two majors. We are waiting for Carlos at the Nitto ATP Finals, where there will be a showdown between the only two Slam champions this season".
