Teun Koopmeiners: “Juventus? Since childhood…”
Juventus: Teun Koopmeiners’ first words
Teun Koopmeiners, Juventus’ new midfielder, did not hide his joy on the day of the presentation: "It's been great these days and it's been very exciting to get here. It's been great to have a few days to be able to prepare for the upcoming games, to get in shape and to get to know the team. I am really happy and I can't wait to start this adventure".
"I have to say that since I was a child I have always watched the various bigs and among them was Juve,” the Dutchman admitted.
When I arrived in Italy I realized how exceptional it was, I continued to follow it and playing with Atalanta in this stadium I was able to taste this atmosphere. I thought it would be great to play with the Bianconeri and when there'è was the opportunity; I had no doubts".
On bidding farewell to Atalanta: "I think the most important thing is that I had some great years at Atalanta, especially the last season in which we won a trophy. I grew so much as a man and as a footballer thanks to them. The city è è has always been wonderful towards me, when I think back to the 3 years in Bergamo I only have beautiful moments. In the career of a footballer you can have different points of view, but it is part of life. Now I am very happy to have moved to Juventus".
On the new coach: " We talked, he welcomed me very well. He's very demanding and I expected that, it makes me happy this. I also met all the teammates, so the feelings are very positive. With Thiago Motta we talked about different things, not only at the level of the game but also because of the lifestyle he wants from his athletes. I saw that there'è hunger and energy, this excites me".
So he reassured about his own physical condition: "I feel very good, I am definitely fit. I have been training very intensely every day and I was happy that I was able to play 45 minutes. I am ready to play from the start".
"Obviously Juve è a club that has won so many trophies and this è a goal of ours. But now we have to go step by step, game by game, and we talked about it with the coach. A lot of new players have arrived and it will take time to get to know each other better, so we will proceed step by step. Then the results will come, we will be able to be more and more united and bonded. It's clear that we want to win titles, è what every footballer wants to do" concluded Koopmeiners.
