Charles Leclerc disappointed: "Error of judgment"
Charles Leclerc finished second in the GP Di Azerbaijan behind an excellent Oscar Piastri. At the end of the race the Monegasque was visibly disappointed: "As soon as we mounted the hard compound I realized that I could no longer win. We had not done the simulation-race during practice" he told Sky Sport.
"We chose a direction that gave me problems in the race at the management level. I thought sooner or later I would put it in the wall. McLaren did better, they were better than us. At the time of overtaking, I knew I had the tires more cold than Piastri, I could not do much, I thought I could return the overtaking".
"È it was an error in judgment, but I don’t know what I could do more or different. I thought it needed to warm up the hard ones more. I feel sorry for Sainz, I would say it was not è a great day for Ferrari. I think McLaren had less load, so they were very fast on the straight. I couldn’t get under as much as I wanted to. When Piastri overtook me, I thought about staying close to him and then quickly playing my opportunity; but he was too fast on the straight" concluded the Monegasque.
