Italvolleyball, the draw
A title to defend and a dream to achieve. The draw for the group stage of the Men’s World Championship 2025, scheduled in the Philippines from September 12 to 28, saw current reigning world champions Italy, the No. 1 seed in Pool F and fifth in the world rankings, being placed together with Ukraine, Belgium and Algeria.
In Pool A, hosts Philippines (number one seed as the host country) will play with Iran, Egypt and Tunisia. In Pool B, European champions Poland have been drawn with the Netherlands, Qatar and Romania. Pool C, featuring Olympic champions France, will feature Argentina, Finland and South Korea. In Pool D, in addition to the United States (third in the world rankings), there will be Cuba, Portugal and Colombia. Pool E, on the other hand, features Slovenia, Germany, Bulgaria and Chile. Pool G will face Japan, Canada, Turkey and Libya. Finally, Group F will be composed of Brazil, Serbia, the Czech Republic and China.
The rainbow event for the first time will see 32 teams competing, up from 24 in previous editions.
