Red Bull, Christian Horner doesn’t raise white flag
The weekend in Baku è ended in the worst possible way for Red Bull, with Max Verstappen seeing his lead in the drivers’ championship over Lando Norris shrink further and Sergio Perez missing out on the podium with two laps to go due to contact with Carlos Sainz. In addition, McLaren placed overtaking the Austrian team in the constructors’ championship. With seven races to go, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner è expressed himself bluntly about the fight for the two World Championships.
"We are pushing hard, now we are no longer defending, but chasing. As a result, the dynamic changes again and we’re going to push hard. We have been hit hard in the constructors’ standings. We are 20 points behind, so we have to attack. We still have seven races and two Sprints to go. There are still a lot of points up for grabs on different circuits, so è far from over" began the British team principal as quoted on "FormulaPassion".
"Every team è different, our rules of engagement are very clear and the goal to be achieved until the end of the year è well defined. We have a driver who is fighting for the world championship. It's a team sport, so è very clear that Checo's job is to support Max until the end of the championship" added Christian Horner.
F1 will return to the track in Singapore on Sunday, September 22.
