Lazio knockout, Marco Baroni furious: è controversy
Fiorentina beat Lazio on Sunday in a comeback thanks to two penalty kicks (both scored by Albert Gudmundsson). In the post-match Marco Baroni è spoke harshly analyzing the match: "The match è was decided only by the episodes: we did moreù ball possession, moreù shots on goal, moreù entries in the penalty area…these are situations contrary to the spirit of the game".
" A player cannotò even cover a cross at the back with his feet almost off the field but abroad I don't see such incidents. We have to change the way we defend. Even on the first penalty Gudmundsson has already moved the ball, there's a borderline situation. We try to put forward some spectacle, let there be spectacle on the field. If you go in this direction it becomes difficult for us coaches to give directions. Guendouzi the foot takes it off, the pass è been made and then instead of shooting, the attacker better look for this kind of contact".
Marco Baroni then concluded: "We have very good referees but these are situations that make it difficult for us and the players to work as well. If I want an aggressive team I ask them to go hard, then I ask them to go slow but it becomes difficult for me. We played with personality; but we are penalized by two episodes also difficult to analyze defensively. In some situations we need more; determination, but we will find this, the team plays and creates. We need to bring the players to close the door well, I am not worried today, far from it, I am bitter becauseé there are episodes that penalize us".
