Juventus: Douglas Luiz often benched, Thiago Motta untroubled
The technician is preferring him to McKennie
There are two "open cases" within Juventus. The first concerns Vlahovic who, after his two goals at Hellas Verona, è practically disappeared from the radar, so much so that he was replaced at the end of the first half against Napoli. Then there's the Douglas Luiz issue, the second most expensive purchase of the Bianconeri summer. The Brazilian spent more time on the bench than on the pitch.
The former Aston Villa was supposed to be the pivot of the Old Lady’s midfield but, so far, he has been è seen little. Thiago Motta has preferred other solutions, in particular he is betting heavily on McKennie who, from redundancy, è become a valuable element for the former Bologna coach.
What about Douglas Luiz? Keeping 50 million on the bench seems a rejection but, in reality, it è not so;. Thiago Motta believes in the Brazilian. Coming back from the Copa America, he needs time, according to the Bianconeri technical staff, to find the best physical condition and better understand the dictates of the new coach.
Juventus è awaits several important matches. On Saturday it will be on stage at Genoa’s field and on Wednesday it will pay a visit to Leipzig for the second day of the Champions League. The feeling è that thereà will be room, from the first minute, for Douglas Luiz in one of these two matches as well. It will then be up to the Brazilian to prove that he is ready and, therefore, hold on to his place.
