Andrea Vavassori and Simone Bolelli are the first finalists in the Beijing ATP 500 doubles draw. The Italian pair è imposed themselves on the duo formed by Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektic with the score of 7-6 6-2, after one hour and twenty minutes of play.
The first set è very balanced and was decided at the tie-break, where the blue duo upped the pace winning the partial with a clear 7-1. In the second set, Vavassori and Bolelli immediately put the match on a downward slope thanks to a four-games-to-one split. At that point, the tournament number ones closed easily on a 6-2 score.
For the Bolognese and the Turin-based player, this is the fifth final of the season after Australian Open, Buenos Aires, Roland Garros and Halle, where they will try to bring home their third title of the year. In the Beijing final, the two blues will face off against the winners of the second semifinal between number three seeded Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten or the pair formed by Jamie Murray and John Peers.
A triumph at the China Open, in addition, for Bolelli and Vavassori would mean putting a serious mortgage on qualifying for the upcoming Nitto ATP Finals in Turin.
