Filippo Ganna seeks another prestigious result

There will be Filippo Ganna, a native Piedmontese, among the participants in the 2024 edition of the GranPiemonte, one of the oldest cycling races in the world, known until 2008 as the Giro del Piemonte. The Verbania athlete will be at the start in the Ineos Grenadiers jersey just days after a fine time trial at the World Championships in Zurich, at the end of which he won the silver medal.

The 108th edition of the Piedmontese race will be run along a substantially flat course in the first part, while after the 100th kilometer (of the total 182) there will be several difficulties presented by the altimetry until practically the finish line in Borgomanero.

After an initial pass over the finish line, there will be an 11-kilometer loop around the town in the province of Novara, with the last few kilometers on a falsopiano uphill stretch presenting itself as the launching pad for a possible decisive breakaway. However, it won&#39t be only Filippo ganna who will be the race's special observer.

In fact, the entire podium of the 2023 edition, composed of winner Andrea Bagioli, Marc Hirschi and Alex Aranburu, will be present, and Ivan Garcia Cortina, winner in 2022, will also participate. Also among the entrants are Richard Carapaz, Romain Bardet, Davide Formolo, Bauke Mollema, Matej Mohoric, Alberto Bettiol and Matteo Trentin, as well as men capable of having their say in a possible sprint finish such as Michael Matthews, Kaden Groves and Giacomo Nizzolo.
