Iga Swiatek separates from her coach

In a surprise move, tennis No. 1 Iga Swiatek of Poland is parting ways with her coach Tomasz Wiktorowski, with whom she won four of her five Grand Slam tournaments. Here are the words posted by Swiatek in stories on her Instagram account.

“After three years in which I achieved some of the greatest goals of my career, my coach Tomasz Wiktorowski and I have decided to part ways. I want to start by thanking him from the bottom of my heart and telling him that I really enjoyed our work together”.

“I needed strong changes and a new approach to my game. His experience and great knowledge about tennis helped us achieve goals that I could have only dreamed of a few months after we started working together”.

“Our main goal was to become No. 1 in the world: we always aimed high, going to every tournament with the clear goal of winning it. Coach, THANK YOU, I wish you the best. I know you wanted to rest after these three years of hard work and long travels, to spend some time with your loved ones“.
