His father Flavio also played in Serie A, in Ascoli, but è he was also a protagonist in Catanzaro, from 1983 to 1985: according to the latest rumors Mattia Destro could imitate his parent, who però was a defender, landing in the Calabrian club.

The son of art, who grew up in the youth sector of Ascoli first and then Inter, made his debut in professional soccer with Genoa, but the most brilliant period of his career was during his experience in Siena, where he scored 12 goals and provided 4 assists in 30 league games, thus earning the attention of Roma. 

After a loan at AC Milan in the 2014/2015 season, Destro chose to start again at Bologna, where he è remained for five seasons. He then è returned to Genoa until 2022, before moving to’Empoli, where in the last two seasons he has scored only one goal in 33 games.

Closed the’adventure in Tuscany Mattia è released and could therefore start again from B and Calabria.
