Raffaella Reggi compares Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz

Raffaella Reggi, on the eve of their debut in the Shanghai Masters 1000, spoke about the rivalry between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz comparing their characteristics and analyzing their current moment. Here are the words to Fanpage of the’former Italian tennis player and now appreciated technical commentator at Sky.

“In my opinion Alcaraz has something more today, but from the point of view of just reading the match and the important moments. While from the mental level è Jannik to have something more;. Alcaraz from this point of view canò draw more, with Jannik instead trying to look for variations moreù in addition to this frantic pace he has from the back. The two can therefore always fight strongly and this è beautiful, because è è a wonderful rivalry. They estimate each other a lot then, there'è great respect. Alcaraz’s words before the game about Jannik were also very nice".

“The thing that surprises me è that in spite of such a delicate moment, as Sinner and his team were convinced that everything was over with the ITIA verdict, Jannik è managed to get back up and play great. È it was a not inconsiderable beating, but he still tried to give it his all with the help of the team and the people who love him. Now it will take time, there is even talk of a verdict in February 2025. It è not easy, while being convinced of course that he has never done anything wrong. È a pretty heavy boulder…”.

"You have to emphasize the moment, thatè Jannik you hardly see him end up down 5 to 2 in the set, without fighting like he did afterwards. And that certainly also denotes the difficult moment he is going through. Also considering all the way to the final, that is; two matches recovered from a set down, not playing his best tennis. Against Lehecka and Bu he made so many mistakes. So è he was very good to get to play a match at that level, considering all that there'è out".
