Ferrari, Carlos Sainz has his say on relationship with Charles Leclerc
A companion relationship analyzed by one of the people involved.
Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have shared the Ferrari pit box from 2021 to the present, and will do so until the end of the current season when the Spaniard will leave Maranello to join Williams, while Lewis Hamilton will arrive in his place. He himself, however, wanted to take stock of his relationship with his Monegasque colleague ahead of the last six Formula 1 rounds in which the two will be teammates.
"Leclerc and I have been teammates for four years, and in all this time we have built a very strong bond,” Sainz said in an interview granted to 'Straits Times' -Our relationship è been very mature from the start, and we have managed to maintain this balance over time".
Sainz’s reference è to the many episodes he has shared with Leclerc, on and off the track, and in which the two have often helped each other to try to improve their respective results and those of Ferrari in general, to which have also alternated with various moments in which the two bearers of the Cavallino have battled each other. Even bitterly.
What Sainz però wanted to ensure è was the maintenance of his good relationship with Leclerc. "We have worked together, bringing Ferrari many points and even victories. That said, we are both very competitive and aim to be very successful. But always for the good of the team", were the words of the Madrid-born driver.
