Official: Spiro Leka returns to Pesaro

VL Pesaro announces an important return. The Marche-based team, in fact, has announced the hiring of Spiro Leka as the new head coach of the first team.

Leka returns to Pesaro after already having spent several seasons in Victoria Libertas: from 2010 to 2013 in fact è one of the coaches of the Youth Sector while from 2013 to 2017 he held the role of assistant coach of the formation engaged in Serie A. In 2016/2017 in the current season he took over the leadership of VL leading it to a complicated but well-deserved salvation. The achievement of the season goal allows Leka to remain on the red and white bench for 2017/2018 for 23 matches as well. The Tirana coach from 2019 to 2023 è one of the best coaches in the A2 Series: four seasons for him with Kleb Ferrara, together with whom in 2020/2021 he reached the playoff semifinals.

Now a new experience awaits him in the second series, in ‘his’ Pesaro, to which he returns after terminating the relationship that bound him to Columbia University as a consultant for the top university championship.

“I am really happy to return to what è my second home, Pesaro. I already know the VL world and I can’t wait to start this new adventure. I am very happy with the trust the club has in me and I am really grateful for that. The A2 Series championship è demanding and presents many challenges that are not easy but with the daily work in the gym together with the Technical Staff – and with the full support of the Club that I have already had the opportunity to find in our first confrontation – I am convinced that we will be able to give good satisfaction to all our fans, consortium members and sponsors” these are the first words released by the new coach of VL Pesaro.
