Paulo Fonseca no-holds-barred on Rafael Leao
Paulo Fonseca relies again on Rafael Leao
Despite still being six days away from the end of the Champions League single group stage, AC Milan needs to salvage the three points in the match scheduled for Tuesday evening at the 'Meazza' against Club Brugge. To do so, the Rossoneri will return to rely on Rafael Leao, whose 100-plus minutes spent on the bench in the match against Udinese made no small noise.
"I can already say that Leao will play from the first minute,” Milan coach Paulo Fonseca commented to the microphones of 'Sky Sport' – Every choice I make è in function of achieving victory, I am not looking for personal satisfaction because I believe in the fact that the team comes before everything else".
" Milan è more important than Fonseca or any footballer – added the Portuguese coach, who against the Belgian side is looking for the first points of the League Phase after the defeats against Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen -. As a coach my responsibility è è to do everything so thaté Milan can win every game we play".
"Against Club Brugge it is not è a decisive match, but it is certainly è very important – Fonseca further explained -. It will be a different match from the first two, but equally very difficult: we are playing against a team of quality, which likes to play, just back from a good away win on the previous day in Champions. We, forò, must win".
