Vincenzo Marinelli, historic president of Pescara and former manager of the Italian national team, è died at the age of 88: his family added the news. 

Marinelli, who had been ill for some time, was currently honorary president of the Abruzzo club, which he led in the '80s. After his experience in the Delfino è he became manager of the National Under-21 team, with which he won several international trophies.

In recent years he battled a serious illness for a long time. His funeral will be celebrated Friday afternoon.
