Jorge Martin admits he let Pecco Bagnaia win
The words of Jorge Martin
Jorge Martin è settled for second place in the Thai GP: "Many people don’t understand how fast you go in these conditions, we went strong and I started well. Then I took some risks and tried to stay close to Bagnaia, but I had difficulty and little grip".
"I saw that I could not catch Bagnaia and then I told myself to let him win and keep second place" revealed the Spaniard, the world leader now with a 17-point margin over the two-time queen class champion.
"After the warm up I was not happy and satisfied, but I have to thank the team becauseé we understood what to do and we made an important step forward – said instead Bagnaia -. I am overjoyed becauseé this morning I was not feeling good on the bike and I could not exploit its potential. I thank the team becauseé they had the right insight, I felt a bike with a good rhythm".
"È it was an eternally long race, especially after Marquez’s crash. With him on the track I would have recovered 9 points, they are 5 but still they are important from a mental point of view".
