Carlos Alcaraz doesn’t take it and goes down flat.
Carlos Alcaraz irritated by the speed of the surface and beyond
Carlos Alcaraz overcame the first hurdle at the Paris-Bercy Masters 1000, beating Chilean Nicolas Jarry in the second round (he had been excused from the first, being among the tournament’s top seeds): 7-5, 6-1 the final score, with the Murcian reacting to a moment of disbandment for which he had risked seeing victory slip away in the opening set.

"As tennis players we face too many different conditions every week, both in terms of surface and balls available. I think it’s a case of making these aspects more uniform, for now we can’t do anything about it"” commented the young world number 2, who in the ATP world ranking è behind Jannik Sinner.
Carlos Alcaraz, class of 2003, has won four major circuit tournaments in the 2024 season: the Indian Wells Masters 1000 in March, Roland Garros in June and the Wimbledon tournament in July (two Grand Slam tournaments) and the Beijing ATP 500 whose final, played and won in three hard-fought sets against friend-rival Sinner, was played last Oct. 2.
