Tommaso Sala, the 29-year-old Gold Flames bearer, è ran into an injury on Thursday during the slalom team’s training in Val Senales. The unfortunate athlete from Brianza, è got a ruptured cruciate ligament, without even falling. During a descent, he gave out and suffered a recoil, which threw him upward. After stopping, Tommy immediately experienced severe pain, which functional tests performed in Ortisei revealed to be the ligament tear.
Sala will be operated on in the next few hours, after consulting with the president of the Federal Medical Commission Andrea Panzeri, who will see him on Saturday in Bormio.

The’blue, boasts 9 top 10 finishes in the World Cup, and has as his best result a sixth place in the slalom in Garmisch ’23.
Ahead of the slalom in Gurgl, Italy will then field Vinatzer, Kastlunger, Gross and Filippo Della Vite, who was summoned by dt Max Carca after his good results in the Pass Thurn slaloms.
