Novak Djokovic seeks title number 100

Reeling from his first season in seven years without winning a Grand Slam tournament and seeking what would be his 100th career tournament win, Novak Djokovic has decided to go back to the old ways, setting the start of the competitive season at the upcoming ATP 250 in Brisbane, Australia. It had been since 2009 since Nole participated in the tournament in the Queensland capital.

Djokovic comes from a 2024 full of highs and lows: certainly to be remembered è was his success in Paris 2024, an Olympic gold medal that è went to enrich the Serb&#39s immense palmares. On the other hand, the one obtained on the same clay that between May and June hosts Roland Garros è was the only tournament won by Nole all season.

Class of 1987, Djokovic played all four Slam tournaments last year, with his best result being qualifying for the semifinals of the Australian Open, where he was defeated in four sets by future champion (as well as future heir at the top of the world rankings) Jannik Sinner.

To get to triple digits, Djokovic, the only one still active of the "Big Three" (Federer stopped in 2022, Nadal at the end of 2024) who have lit up world tennis in the last two decades, will have to win at least one more tournament: in Brisbane he will be the No. 1 seed in the tournament that will also see Matteo Berrettini and Matteo Arnaldi, among others, at the starting ribbons.
