Club World Cup: great start for Conegliano and Milan
In the ranks of the meneghine team, Orro
is seen again.
Excellent start for Conegliano and Milan at the Club Volleyball World Cup being held in Hangzhou, China. Both making their debut in the tournament, they got rid of Praia and Minas, two Brazilian teams, respectively.
Conegliano had no problem getting rid of Praia, ending the match with a dry 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-15). Applause especially for Zhu Ting, ace of the Chinese national team and star of Conegliano. It took the Venetian team only 71' minutes to settle the Brazilians and forfeit their first victory in the tournament.
Everything was also easy for Milan, which overwhelmed Minas, also 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 27-25 the set partials). Excellent performance by Egonu who closed with 18 points and, in the third set (the mostù fought), put down decisive balls for the victory. The good news for Vero Volley è the return of Orro after about a month d'absence due to knee problems.
Milan, in the next round of the World Club Championships, will take on the hosts Tianjin while Conegliano faces the champion team from Vietnam, namely LP Bank Ninh Binh. As a reminder, there are eight teams participating in the Club World Cup, divided into two groups of four. The top two finishers fly to the semifinals. The finals è scheduled for December 22.
