Three Italians in Mauritius. But not on vacation
Three Italians in Mauritius
From December 19-22, the DP World Tour will return to the spotlight with the Mauritius Open, the last tournament of the 2024 season and the fifth event on the 2025 calendar. Three Italians will be present on the Mont Choisy Le Golf course in Grand Baie.
Romans Renato Paratore, second in the 2019 edition, and Andrea Pavan, fresh off a 24th-place finish in the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa, along with Gregorio De Leo, will be looking for the big score. The Piedmontese, after getting the "card", will try to put himself in the spotlight in an event that will offer a prize pool of $1,500,000, with $204,000 earmarked for the winner.
Now in its eighth year, the tournament will feature top contenders German Marcel Siem, winner this year of the Italian Open in Cervia, American Sean Crocker, Swede Marcus Kinhult, Scotsman Scott Jamieson, Spaniard Angel Ayora, Englishman Eddie Pepperell and South Africans Daniel Van Tonder, Jacques Blaauw, Casey Jarvis and Jayden Schaper.
Notable absentee will be South African Louis Oosthuizen, defending champion after his 2023 success.
