Serie B 2024-2025: Sassuolo-Palermo, the likely lineups

The probable lineups

Among the matches scheduled for Saturday in Serie B, the challenge between the leading Sassuolo and Palermo, which started with great ambitions but ran into a few too many negative results that led the Rosanero team out of the playoff zone after seventeen league games, undoubtedly stands out. It will be played at Mapei Stadium-Città del Tricolore in Reggio Emilia, referee Giovanni Ayroldi from the Molfetta section.

Offensive lineup for both formations: Fabio Grosso (former Rosanero as a player) relies on in so far effective trident, composed of Berardi, Moro and Laurienté, and on Obiang's experience, joined by the younger Thorstvedt and Boloca, in midfield. On the other hand, Dionisi (former coach of Sassuolo’s own in A) launches Roberto Insigne, Brunori and Di Francesco in attack, with the goal of piercing the blackvarde defense.

From the point of view of recent results, Sassuolo has not lost in the league since Aug. 31 (1-4 with Cremonese) and has collected six consecutive wins, seven in the last 10 days. Palermo, on the other hand, comes from defeats against Carrarese away (1-0) and Catanzaro at home (1-2) and has not won since a 2-0 loss to Spezia last Dec. 1°.
