Salvatore Bocchetti: "So much bitterness in the mouth"

Monza’s defeat against Parma, which accrued just before the final whistle at the 'Tardini', left more than one regret for the Brianzoli and new coach Salvatore Bocchetti, who congratulated his team for the performance but did not hide his regret for a match from which the biancorossi return home without adding points in the standings.

"There's a lot of bitterness in my mouth,” Bocchetti said in the press room, speaking to reporters, “but I have amazing guys who gave me an important signal. It hurts to come back empty-handed after a match like that, but the guys gave their souls and I am very confident, I worked on some concepts that the team put into practice".

Bocchetti also answered questions about the soccer market, which is about to reopen for the winter session: "Galliani will take care of the market,” he said, bluntly, “I have to think about making those I have at my disposal perform at their best. Daniel Maldini? I am very happy with the way he played, in my opinion he played a good match".

Returning then to the final result, Bocchetti added: "I also struggle to think that a draw would have been fair. A little more nastiness under the goal would have been ideal but it is useless to feel sorry for ourselves, we have to think about working because on Sunday we have another final. Monza will face Cagliari on Sunday, Jan. 5, at 12:30 p.m., at the 'Brianteo'.
