Pistoia goes to Brescia but new coach stays home
Sunday Germani Brescia-Estra Pistoia
Six consecutive defeats and only two lengths ahead of the relegation zone have convinced the management of Estra Pistoia to change the technical leadership, moving from Zare Markovski to Gasper Okorn: the Slovenian coach, però; will not be able to follow his new team in Sunday’s match (19.30) against Germani Brescia, as confirmed by the white and red club.
"In fact, due to the technical timing of the registration,” the club explained in the pre-game press release, “in Brescia the new coach will not be on the bench, replaced by his assistants Tommaso Della Rosa and Giuseppe Valerio". Della Rosa himself spoke on the eve of the game, explaining Pistoia’s ambitions for a very complicated match on paper.
"The boys, in these hours, are immediately trying to absorb the novelties" of the new coach – explained the white-and-red assistant coach -: we have done four workouts with the right spirit of sacrifice, showing ourselves mentally ready to his demands and we will try to put into practice these new situations both as a team and as a staff".
"It’ obvious that it will take time, we will make our mistakes but the salient point to improve ourselves practice after practice,” Della Rosa added.
As I said after the game against Reggio Emilia, I am definitely overjoyed to step back after this game and make myself available to coach Okorn".
