Empoli-Lecce 1-3

Nearly a month after their previous league success (against Monza on Dec. 15, 2-1), Lecce returned to savor the taste of victory by beating Empoli 2-1, getting three golden points in the race for salvation. For the Salentini è the second away win in the entire championship: the previous one dates back to 1-0 against Venezia last Nov. 25, in the match played at "Penzo".

In fact, è a real sprint start put the match on the right tracks for the men coached by Marco Giampaolo: On 6'Tete Morente, at the end of an action propitiated by an Empoli blunder in the setting phase, reiterated in goal after a mistake just before by Krstovic, while on 11'it was precisely the Montenegrin striker who scored, taking advantage of another inattention of the defenders on an action initiated by a side foul.

Lecce insisted on putting pressure on the home team: Seghetti è good on Helgason at 15', four minutes later the Empoli goalkeeper repeated himself on Krstovic, fired into the net after yet another defensive inattention. D'Aversa makes a change, inserting De Sciglio in place of Ismajli at 20', but to wait for a reaction we have to get to the beginning of the second half: at 47', in fact, Cacace reopened the game, signing the 1-2 on Gyasi's precise assist.

Empoli seemed to believe in it, but in the end of the match è unbalanced forward in search of an equalizer and in minute 91 Lecce took advantage: Dorgu served Krstovic on the edge of the area, the Giallorossi number 9 let off a splendid conclusion on which Seghetti could not. There will be no further excitement, Lecce wins 3-1 and reaches at 20 right Empoli, thus putting its head out of the relegation zone.
